If I say a few words to you
Would you listen?

And not just hear



You see I know

When I talk to you

And say sweet things

Being that I have a way with words

You think it’s all game

I want to assure you sweetheart

I mean every word of it

I want to spend the rest of my life with you

Become a family

I’m not in this

Just to blow your back out

Or use you for you’re money

No

It’s deeper than that

I want your mind

I want to see you every morning when I wake up

I want you to be the one I come home to

After a long day of work

I want to cook dinner together

Give you foot and back massages after you get out of the tub

Lay in bed after our kids are asleep

Reading and discussing bible scriptures



All these things

I ask of you

But before any of that can happen

I ask you

It seems

To take me back

But it seems that all I get from you



If you forgive me

Then do just that

Not saying erase the past
