We used to play outside
Till the street lights came on
Walked home from school together
The old folks taught us
Watched out for you
When your parents were at work
Grandparents helping out your parents
Fathers being more than just a pay check
And only showing up once or twice a year
Mothers would rather stay at home
Than club hop
We had respect for life
Less baby momma’s
And more wives
Less deadbeats
More real men
Less guns
If we had to take it to that level
It was a scrap in the streets
The point is win or lose
You walked away
Fair ones they called them
I wish we could relive those days
But as bad as times are now
We will one day look back on these times
As the good ole days
